What I learned from my 1 Star Review (1 min read)

As a general contractor I have built my brand around communication. How it is so important to me, and I’ll always get back to you. And for the first 6 years I’ve been pretty damn good at that.

Until now…

Because I’m a one woman show when it comes to certain aspects of the business, I dropped the ball twice on a client’s consultation call. The first time I wrote the number down wrong and called the wrong phone and left a message. He then reached out and we established my mistake, so I offered another appointment for the call. Only I didn’t see that he accepted, and I missed that one too. Talk about feeling like a POS

He then emailed and said he was moving on to another contractor. I validated his feelings and expressed my apologies and that I hoped he found someone better about communicating.

Then came the 1 star review.

And you know what that is his right. He didn’t lie because I did all those things or didn’t do might be a better phrasing. But instead of defending myself I saw an opportunity to learn.

So we invested in software that lets you schedule your phone appointments right from the website or social media. And all the information is saved and comes to me to put in my calendar.

If you’d like to schedule your own phone consultation you can do it here. And as for 1 star John thanks for the feedback.
