Lessons I Learned From the 2008 Housing Crash (and Why They Still Matter Today)
Back in 2008, like many others in the construction and real estate industry, I lost it all. The housing crash hit hard, and overnight everything I had worked for seemed to vanish. But that season taught me lessons I carry with me every day as a residential builder in Dickson County.
The biggest lesson? Diversify. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. That’s why I don’t just build new homes—I remodel, I handle additions, I fix floor plans, and I work with budgets of all sizes. Having multiple skills and services means that no matter what the economy is doing, I can keep building, serving clients, and creating value.
But the most important takeaway was this: resilience. A house isn’t strong without a solid foundation, and neither is a business. By focusing on people instead of just profit, I’ve built a career that weathers the storms—and I bring that same stability to every client project.
